Gysi+Berglas is our greenhouse manufacturer and took the plunge to help us build the first commercial rooftop farm in Basel. They’re a bunch of tech guys and love to work on new and exciting innovations: just like us!
|The Hub Zurich||
The folks at Hub Zurich association are totally family with UrbanFarmers. Since the inception of the Zurich Hub space in 2010, we have been part of this growing and exciting group of entrepreneurs that want to make an impact. We are blessed to have been on the journey with the Hub team and wish them all the very best for their continued success!
Lucas is our Creative Director and true mastermind in conjuring the brand strategy with UrbanFarmers since the earliest times. Lucas did our Corporate Identity and most of the visual work we commissioned. Without him, there would be no such cool UrbanFarmers brand!
NI is our technology partner for the UF Controller, our proprietary farm control software. The NI guys are also supporting UrbanFarmers with a “Startup Package” that includes free hardware, a developer license for LabView, as well as free training and technical assistance. We like!!
At Nature Messe, UrbanFarmers won the 2010 award of “Generation Zukunft” in sustainability.
UrbanFarmers has successfully completed the full venturekick I, II, and III series for funding of CHF 130’000. This makes us pretty proud!
The Volkswirtschaft-Stiftung has been supporting UrbanFarmers with a 100k loan facility in 2012. We are very happy to have been selected by the foundation and are excited to venture into pioneering territories.
The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Schweiz has been supporting UrbanFarmers with a seed grant through the Hub WWF Fellowship for Climate Change & Sustainability, which we won in 2010.The WWF panda continues to care for us through providing a temporary office space on their premises, as well as networking with major industrial groups in Switzerland.
The University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) in Wädenswil is the mother to our Aquaponic technology. As a spin-off company, we share Andreas’ resource as both a scientist and co-founder in UrbanFarmers, but also other critical links. Since July 2012, we are working with the ZHAW on a joint CTI Research project.
Zühlke Engineering is our technology partner for the UF Controller. The guys at Zühlke got the development work and design for the UF Controller started and have heavily supported this project.
|CTI Start-Up Label||
CTI has been coaching technology start-ups very successfully since a number of years. With Dr.Marcos Garcia-Pedraza, we have completed our CTI Label acceptance in fall of 2013. Many thanks for your great support, Marcos, during the last 3 years, and many thanks to CTI for this program!
